Dive into the world of Linocut Printmaking with our Beginner’s Workshop!

Unlock your creativity and learn the art of linocut printmaking in this hands-on workshop designed for beginners. Led by experienced artist Georgie Rigby from BluePepper Art, this workshop will introduce you to the fundamentals of linocut printing, from carving your own design onto linoleum blocks to creating an edition of unique prints on paper. All materials will be provided. Feel free to bring additional handmade papers or cards to experiment with.

What to Expect:

        *       Tips and tricks for designing and transferring your artwork onto linoleum blocks. Bring a photo or picture for inspiration.
                You do not need to be able to draw - don’t worry!
        *       Step-by-step guidance on carving techniques and tool usage
        *       Hands-on practice to master cutting and printing techniques using “mark making” tester pieces
        *       Experimentation with color and composition to create unique hand burnished prints.
        *       Small class size of 8 students for personalized instruction and feedback.

Educated at Leeds Arts University, UK, Georgie is a multi-disciplinary artist with over 30 years of professional experience in the arts with a background in art directing and designing sets for TV dramas, and bespoke contemporary fine art commissions. Driven by her passion to inspire and enrich the lives of others through art, she provides engaging art education for all ages.
